Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our small engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing modules, assemblies, and systems for our InfraRed Payloads hosted on satellites in earth orbit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) including power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, and/or microcontroller designs.
  • Perform printed circuit board layout, signal integrity analysis, power distribution network design, and hands-on component, assembly, board testing, system integration and debugging.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Optical, Mechanical, Software, and Integration & Test engineers to validate the electrical design and test of the Payload.
  • Perform root cause analysis of electronics and/or integrated payload failures, and improve the design to prevent future failures.
  • Work to improve performance metrics through critical planning and execution of development tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university and 12+ years' experience.
  • Hands-on experience with industry standard hardware design tools such as PCB design software, schematic capture, circuit simulation tools, signal/power integrity tools, and Atlassian Tools (Confluence & Jira).
  • Experience with space qualified design, development, integration, and test of electronics and electrical components requiring radiation hardening, thermal and power constraints, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance. (U.S. Citizenship is required)
