Pete's Tire Barns Inc. is a leading tire dealership in New England, with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and employee development. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Off-Road Tire Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Off-Road Tire Technician will be responsible for performing tire repairs, replacements, and general service to tires and wheels on earthmover equipment. This includes mounting, dismounting, balancing, replacing, and repairing tires, as well as performing 24-hour Emergency Road Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform tire repairs, replacements, and general service to tires and wheels on earthmover equipment
  • Mounting, dismounting, balancing, replacing, and repairing tires
  • Perform 24-hour Emergency Road Service
  • Mark customers' names on removed tires and wheels
  • Raise vehicle with hydraulic jack, use air tools and heavy hand-held tools
  • Remove or replace mounted tire assembly from vehicles
  • Ability to recognize repairable tires and properly perform repair
  • Communicate all work performed via legible writing on tags, work orders and/or invoices
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
Requirements
  • Driver's License & clean driving record required
  • DOT Medical card required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred
  • At least one year of experience performing passenger and commercial tire changes required

Physical Demands

Exerts 75 to 125 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands), and identifies and distinguishes colors. Occasionally climbs (ascends or descends ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like), balances. Occasionally stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs and spine), and kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees).
