Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead craftsmen with the manufacturing of 3,000 – 6,000 sq. ft. of modular residential construction per month across various trades.
  • Workforce Development: Train and manage a skilled workforce of up to 5 craftsmen within the prefabrication plant, fostering a culture of respect and honor for every team member.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean and prepare the manufacturing floor by removing debris and potential hazards.
  • Material Management: Load and unload building materials and equipment, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and control heavy-duty equipment and machinery for moving materials on the floor.
  • Quality Control: Follow construction plans, blueprints, and instructions provided by the Prefab Production Superintendent, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Culture Development: Cultivate a high-performing factory culture characterized by respect and honor for every team member, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Leadership Development: Raise up leadership in specific areas of production to perpetuate company values as the team grows.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce job safety standards, ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Delegated Authority: Handle delegated authority from the Owner, Executive Team, and Prefab Production Superintendent as appropriate, providing leadership and contributing to the company's success.
  • Constructability Review: Review all plans prior to manufacturing for constructability, providing expert advice to the design team and ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Construction Knowledge: Proficient in reviewing and reading construction plans and specifications.
  • Code Compliance: Competent in California Residential Code or California Building Code.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience coaching and leading teams.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Workforce Management: Experience managing work crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Trade Knowledge: Familiarity with all residential trades (e.g., earthwork, utilities, concrete, framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and finish carpentry).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently orally and in writing regarding technical building details.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Standing and walking for extended periods, frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, repetitive motions, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects weighing up to 150 pounds, climbing and working from ladders up to 36 feet in height.
  • Manual Dexterity: Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tasks such as assembling components, operating tools, or performing quality control checks.
  • Confined Spaces: Working in confined spaces or tight quarters, which could involve additional physical challenges related to maneuvering and accessing work areas.
  • Environmental Conditions: Exposure to various unusual elements, including extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
