  • Assist in plan/spec estimating and conceptual estimating in a design/build/assist scenario.
  • Understand the total life cycle of a building and guide customers to the best solution aligning with their mission.
  • Partner with field leadership to ensure projects are installed on schedule while maintaining required design criteria.
  • Work with customers to ensure conceptual designs and budgets meet needs and expectations.
  • Proficient in preconstruction activities such as project execution plans, detailed estimate reviews, commodity and equipment procurement, subcontractor selection, issuing subcontracts, and developing project schedules.
  • Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within scope of company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Forecasts project profitability on a monthly basis, identifies trends, and makes adjustments to the project execution plan as necessary.
  • Manage subcontractor proposal requests, scope reviews, and issuing subcontracts.
  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring schedules of field and subcontractor progress.
  • Assist in coordinating safety programs and overseeing job site safety reviews.
  • Coordinate all job correspondence.
  • Identify opportunities for future projects and network internally and externally to pursue such opportunities, collaborating with the Director of Operations – Solutions, and others.
  • Responsible for understanding offerings of US Engineering's sister companies and promoting their services when appropriate.
  • Responsible for supporting professional development of other team members through education, mentoring, and continuous feedback.
  • Conducts quarterly performance assessments of support staff and assists with field leadership feedback.
  • Assist in securing service maintenance contracts for completed projects.
  • Thoroughly understands strategic direction of US Engineering and aligns all project execution plans with overall strategy.

Job Scope:

The Project Manager – Solutions should possess ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects ranging from $500 up to approximately $5,000,000 in value.

Management Responsibility

Acts as a project manager – management of a project team, on which individuals comprising the team may vary by project.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of field and relevant project leadership experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical construction industry practices, processes, and standards – including systems design, installation, and servicing.
  • Must possess strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, as well as basic knowledge of plumbing systems and industrial processes.
  • Ability to maximize performance of project team through innovative and effective management techniques.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, such as diplomacy, persuasion, etc., are essential to develop and foster effective professional relationships.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic level of financial acumen necessary to manage project budget/performance.
  • Knowledge of computer programs: MS Word, Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-management skills.
  • Ability to successfully drive project through completion.

Physical and/or travel demands:

  • Routine daily driving to project sites required.
  • Infrequent overnight travel may be required, based on project assignments.
  • Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
