Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their work, eager to learn, and motivated to contribute to a fast-growing organization in Mesquite, NV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical and administrative tasks within the scope of practice, following standard operating procedures to achieve the Quadruple Aim: improved outcomes, improved patient experience, improved clinician experience, and decreased cost of care.
  • Support a key patient-facing role in P3's team approach to care delivery, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Utilize medical management treatment guidelines and nationally recognized criteria, such as InterQual / McKesson, MCG, or other practical management guidelines, to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Completion of Medical Assistant course of study or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years clinical experience, including minimum 2 years in a managed care/HMO organization
  • Experience applying medical management treatment guidelines and nationally recognized criteria
  • Familiarity with EMR's

Essential Functions

  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of P3 Health Partners
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit
  • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary; reconcile medications; address gaps in care
  • Perform various procedures (i.e. venipuncture, ear lavage, medication administration) and specimen handling
  • Perform administrative duties such as chart preparation, answering phones, form completion, scheduling appointments, process direct referrals, and schedules follow-up appointments
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
