Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Firefighter-Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter-Paramedic, you will perform emergency medical services as a certified paramedic for an assigned engine company and perform various fire service duties, including all hazards emergency response, ocean rescue, fire suppression, hazardous materials operations, station and equipment maintenance, fire prevention, public education, and related duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform emergency medical services as a certified paramedic for an assigned engine company
  • Perform various fire service duties, including all hazards emergency response, ocean rescue, fire suppression, hazardous materials operations, station and equipment maintenance, fire prevention, public education, and related duties
  • Work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Meet California Department of Motor Vehicle visual acuity standards necessary to maintain required licenses
  • Pass a medical evaluation and maintain a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) certificate
Requirements:
  • One year of continuous full-time paid firefighting experience with a comparable fire agency
  • Current California Paramedic License (EMT-P) or National Registry Paramedic License
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
  • Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) certificate dated within the prior 12-month period
  • Possession of a current and valid California Class C driver's license with a Firefighter endorsement
