Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Orthopedic team at Corewell Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure all information is current and updated, including maintenance and monitoring of electronic health records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, work area, and equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing a caring and respectful experience.
  • Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient needs as directed, and document care consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Engage in process and quality improvement activities, making recommendations to improve operational efficiency and implement new services.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 120 days.
Work Environment

This role is based at our Hughes Professional Center location in Grand Rapids, with a variable schedule of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
