Job Title: Instructional Assistant

Join our team as an Instructional Assistant and play a vital role in supporting the educational growth and development of students in our After-School Program.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to assist in the effective instruction of students and reinforce lessons in a classroom or learning center. As an Instructional Assistant, you will work under the direction of an assigned Supervisor to perform a variety of instructional and clerical duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tutor individual students and small groups of students to reinforce and follow up learning activities.
  • Assist students with homework assignments and provide better understanding of homework as needed.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of instructional materials and learning aids for use with individual or small groups of students.
  • Serve as a role model and develop positive/reinforce social behaviors of students.
  • Supervise students in assigned areas and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some paid or volunteer experience working with youth in an organized setting.
  • Demonstrate an understanding, patient and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups.
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form in English.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks.
  • Learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment.
