RN Student Nurse Extern PRN Progressive Care Unit Position

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate RN Student Nurse Extern PRN to join our Progressive Care Unit team at Parham Doctors' Hospital. As a Nurse Extern PRN, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist with providing patient care, delivering high-quality services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with patient mobility, including turning, positioning, and ambulating patients, as well as transferring them to and from other units or departments.
- Obtain and record initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care.
- Translate complex medical terminology to ensure patients, families, and caregivers understand their medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, as well as follow-up measures.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes that may be needed upon discharge and prepares for future self-management.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.
- Ability to create and implement a personal career development plan, to be reviewed regularly by supervisor and/or preceptor.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
