Position Overview

The Elementary Mathematics Instructional Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of mathematics instruction within Jefferson County Schools. Key Qualifications
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Certification: A valid Alabama teaching certificate is essential.
  • Specialized Training: Successful completion of the Alabama Reading Initiative or equivalent specialized training is necessary.
  • Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience is required.
  • Licensing: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Child Protection Compliance: Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999.
Instructional Expertise

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a profound understanding of effective instructional practices, including:

  • Identifying and resolving challenges collaboratively as a productive team member.
Technological Proficiency

Candidates should possess the ability to leverage technology for:

  • Effective communication and instructional planning.
  • Facilitating student learning and managing educational data.
  • Producing and submitting required reports and documentation.
