Coffee Specialist (Local Café) Beverage Service Associate

Job Overview

The Beverage Service Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring delightful customer experiences by efficiently taking orders, serving beverages, and managing transactions in a welcoming and professional manner across various service points, including the Espresso Bar, Tea Lounge, and Quick Snack Station.

Key Responsibilities

Engages with customers to accurately capture beverage and snack orders.

Prepares and serves high-quality beverages and snacks to customers.

Delivers exceptional customer service and actively participates in upselling.

Maintains equipment, conducts routine maintenance, troubleshoots issues, and coordinates repairs as necessary.

Assists in promotional activities, including product displays, inventory management, and pricing strategies.

Handles cash transactions, operates the point-of-sale (POS) system, and prepares daily financial reports.

Ensures the beverage service area meets the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service.

Follows operational guidelines to ensure smooth daily operations of the service area.

Provides support in other service areas as required.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

Completion of some high school education or equivalent.

Willingness to adapt to scheduling needs based on service demands.

Basic math skills with the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; capable of understanding and interpreting operational manuals.

Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications & Traits

Prior experience showcasing strong customer service abilities.

Experience with beverage preparation equipment and adherence to sanitation standards.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision.

Experience handling cash transactions and operating Point of Sale systems.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.

Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
