We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adjunct Faculty member to teach in our Patient Care Technician program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of our curriculum.
This is a part-time, adjunct faculty position, teaching Continuing Education courses in the Patient Care Technician, Acute Care Technician, and other basic medical skill programs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Continuing Education courses in the Patient Care Technician program
- Develop and utilize a course syllabus for each course following established institutional guidelines
- Instruct students in lecture, on-site laboratory, and off-site clinical facilities, correlating theory with the practice of basic nursing care for residents of a hospital or comparable acute care facility
- Evaluate student comprehension by administering written tests based on lecture/lab materials, and provide oral and written feedback to students as appropriate
- Submit required college reports and forms
- Provide timely, quality access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years of acute care experience in a hospital or LTAC setting (Medical Surgical, Telemetry, ICU, or equivalent)
- Texas Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or equivalent
- Associates degree
- One year of formal teaching or industry training experience
- Current RN or LVN license in the state of Texas
$53.82 per contact hour.
