Join Our Team as a Network Engineer Intern

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as Network Engineer Interns. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of network engineering and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role

As a Network Engineer Intern, you will work collaboratively with our Network Engineering teams to pursue a broad range of initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, develop your technical skills, and learn from experienced professionals in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining and ensuring the widespread availability of secure connectivity solutions.
  • Identify and document key network performance trends and patterns; monitor network diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and software engineers to plan network and infrastructure-related projects.
  • Assist with re-examining firewalls, proxy gateways, and other network security components.
  • Troubleshoot network availability and accessibility issues as they arise.
What You'll Gain

During this 10-week program, you will gain a strong understanding of Cloud Services at Citizens. You will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development workshops, social activities, and community service activities. Additionally, you may be eligible for an offer to return as a Full-time colleague in our Enterprise Technology & Security Development Program (ETSDP) upon graduation.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or other technology-related degree.
  • Expected graduation date of May 2026.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Solid understanding of one or more of the following programming languages, frameworks, libraries, and data formats: Java, JavaScript, C, Python,.Net, Node, SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment; good interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional or academic exposure to cloud network solutions.
  • Cyber security coursework preferred.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring solutions such as Nagios/Cacti, MRTG, and Smokeping preferred.
  • Knowledge of VMWare ESX and Linux technologies preferred.

Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am - 5pm
