JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting the Greasemakers in the operation of the kettle area.
Key responsibilities include the addition of raw materials to the production process, maintaining cleanliness of kettles and the surrounding area, managing the requisition and storage of raw materials, and executing other tasks as directed by the Greasemakers to ensure efficient production operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Safety: Report any leaks, drips, or spills that could impact the environment. Adhere to all personal protective equipment protocols. Identify and report unsafe conditions or actions. Maintain a tidy work environment.
Quality: Understand and contribute to the implementation of the quality policy and ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems. Follow established procedures and ensure documentation is completed accurately.
Operational: Maintain an excellent attendance record. Communicate effectively with Greasemakers, operators, lab staff, supervisors, and others.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform any other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Must possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language. Basic math skills are required. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, lab personnel, and supervisors. Self-motivated with the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must demonstrate the ability to initiate and complete assigned tasks with precision, efficiency, and safety.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education:
High School diploma or GED, or demonstrated capability to perform the job.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Daily training provided by Greasemakers, along with annual General Safety and Hazard Communication training. Various quality training sessions as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs, including equipment such as hoses, fittings, sampling devices, and tank covers. Must be able to ascend stairs, work in confined spaces, and maintain good balance and coordination. Capable of reading small numbers from meters and gauges.
Must distinguish changes in pitch from pumps and motors. Ability to wear a respirator and work in extreme temperatures. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as necessary. Willingness to work overtime with minimal notice.
