Healthcare Revenue Cycle Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team at Commonwealth Care of Roanoke. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of patient accounts, Medicaid coinsurance, and Medicare bad debt write-offs.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process Medicare Bad Debt write-off adjustments for all centers and forward to the Director of A/R.
- Responsible for uploading and retrieval of Patient Fund Audits (PFA) information to the Department of Medical Assistance web portal.
- Complete, review reconciliations from Regional Business Office Managers, and train on month-end Revenue Proof and A/R Reconciliations as assigned by the A/R Director.
- Complete and coordinate Cash Reconciliations for month-end with Home Office accounting staff.
- Participate in Corporate Compliance audits as assigned.
- Reconcile Suspense account monthly which includes contacting payers, pulling remits, analyzing accounts, requesting and identifying missing remittances, working with the Billing Manager.
- Attend training sessions as necessary including Medicare/Medicaid training sessions via teleconference or in-person to keep informed of current billing changes and policies.
- Log, process, and reconcile Medicare Bad Debt write-off adjustments for all centers monthly.
- Reconciliation of Patient Fund Account bank accounts for all centers monthly.
- Complete and train on month-end Accounts Receivable Reconciliations as assigned by the A/R Director.
- Journal Entries as needed.
- Cash Reconciliations for month-end with accounting staff/billing staff monthly.
- Reconcile Clearing accounts.
- Follow up on Unclaimed Property.
- ADR/Appeal tracking.
- An associate degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two years' experience in billing, accounting, or bookkeeping, preferably in healthcare.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated analytical skills for the reconciliation of patient accounts.
- A high level of initiative, confidentiality, organizational skills, and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with payer-specific state and local officials as well as center personnel, home office personnel, insurance company representatives, residents, and responsible parties.
- Must be flexible, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and make effective decisions and work as part of a service excellence team.
- A competitive salary range of $55,000-$70,000 per year.
