About the Role

The Department of Pediatrics at Rowan University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Vice Chair. This leadership role will play a crucial part in the department's mission to provide exceptional patient care, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership
    • Develop and implement quality projects to improve patient care and outcomes
    • Lead planning and goal-setting for ambulatory practices to optimize clinical workflows
    • Establish standards for clinical workflows, including standing orders, rooming protocols, and schedule management
  • Academic Leadership
    • Direct education programs to ensure pre-doctoral and post-doctoral faculty success in competencies, accreditation standards, quality, and consistency
    • Oversee departmental Areas of Distinction and Faculty Development Programs
    • Review and respond to student and faculty satisfaction data, providing appropriate feedback
  • Service and Research
    • Serve as departmental point-person for Educational Software Initiatives and proposals
    • Work with the Deans Office and Foundation to solicit nominations for scholarships and awards
    • Participate in grant proposals from sources at school, university, and national levels
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a medical degree (DO or MD), be AOA or ABMS Board Certified in Pediatrics, and have five years of professional experience, including prior experiences in management roles. The candidate must demonstrate leadership, teambuilding, academic strength, clinical strength, and management strength.
