About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment where you will have the chance to develop your skills and contribute to the success of our brand. As a Junior Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the design process, communicating with internal business partners, and learning the creative process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Process & Communication:
    • Support facilitation for all aspects of design: from initial concept to final development of product
    • Participate in daily follow-up with internal business partners, including communication and meetings
    • Learn the creative process and observe design leaders in the day-to-day workings
    • Prepare and update linesheets in Illustrator, maintain fabric and trim details in Miro, and manage silhouette numbers
    • Assist with pre-production art, including reviewing prints, graphic scale & placements, and validating color chips and line sheets/BOM with supervisor
    • Participate in fit process and update design sketches based on feedback during fittings
    • Train interns on silhouette sketching in Illustrator and line sheet/BOM responsibilities
    • Build and update color swatch palettes as needed for the team
    • Regularly communicate progress with cross-functional partners
    • Responsible for editing all product details throughout design review process that impact final execution of product commercialization
  • Product Line Development:
    • Sketch technical drawings in Illustrator, communicate design intent, and update silo matrix accordingly, with direction from supervisor
    • Fill silhouettes with prints/art in Illustrator, working line sheet, and update printouts accordingly for presentation meetings
    • Independently design at least one program or a portion of a program with Supervisor's mentorship
  • Creative Concept:
    • Research and present design and creative concepts that demonstrate innovative, brand-right creative (silos, trim & details, color, print & graphic design direction to supervisor and peers)
    • Prepare and request design and proto samples from Product Development & Sourcing team
    • Assemble creative and/or trend boards for formal internal or external presentations and set up creative PDF files
Requirements
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Fashion Design, Fine Arts)
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Portfolio that showcases design skills and experience
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills
    • Basic knowledge of garment construction, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication, and trim
    • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
    • Strong time management and creative problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, creative, and team-oriented environment
    • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
    • Working knowledge of Miro and Product Lifecycle Management tool preferred
