Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at FlexStaff Careers. As a Vascular Ultrasound Specialist, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound exams to aid in patient diagnosis and collaborating with clinicians to ensure the appropriateness of studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, positioning them according to departmental standard operating procedures and explaining procedures in layman's terms to alleviate pre-testing anxiety.
  • Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with ultrasound exams, consulting with referring physicians regarding patient history and determining appropriate ultrasound exams.
  • Set up equipment to administer particular exams in a timely fashion, using settings on machines to ensure accurate results and exercising technical judgment.
  • Recognize the significance of structures visualized in the oscilloscope, differentiating artifacts from normal or pathologic processes, and determining the need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions.
  • Observe patients during entire examinations and recognize and report any changes in patient condition or motor abnormality complaints.
Requirements
  • Vocational or technical school diploma required.
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed, such as ARMDS in Vascular.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association required.
