Job Summary

As an Employee Relations Specialist at Murphy Oil, you will play a critical role in providing support to various levels of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to investigate cases from the Ethics Hotline, recommend corrective actions for workforce issues, and advise management on federal, state, and local laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an internal consultant for the Ethics Hotline, providing guidance and support to employees and management.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and recommendations to varying levels of the organization on a broad range of workforce issues.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of legal complaints by drafting documentation to support legal cases.
  • Provide investigatory support to management in complex employee relations cases as part of the conflict resolution process.
  • Conduct exit interviews to ensure proper information is captured, recorded, and available for analysis.
  • Present updates to key initiatives at regional management meetings.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 4 years of related experience and/or training in an applicable role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources systems is preferred.
  • Previous Employee Relations experience is highly preferred.
