Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist to join our team at Ascend Medical Staffing. This role involves providing comprehensive care in a solo practice environment, ensuring high-quality patient management.

Coverage Details:
Hospitalist services are required, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Work Schedule:
• 10 shifts per month
• Day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, followed by on-call responsibilities from 7 PM to 7 AM, which includes phone triage.
• Anticipate 1-3 calls per night, with the possibility of returning to the facility for ICU admissions.

Support Structure:
• Anesthesia and General Surgery backup are not included in this role.
• This is a solo position, requiring independence and confidence in clinical decision-making.

Essential Skills and Procedures:
• Proficiency in ventilator management, central line placement, and intubation is mandatory.
• Candidates must be comfortable managing codes and emergencies.
• Rounding is not a requirement for this position.

Credentialing Requirements:
• Hospital credentialing and privileging are necessary, with a typical processing time of 30-45 days.
• Board Certified (BC) candidates are preferred, although Board Eligible (BE) candidates pursuing certification will be considered.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR):
• The facility utilizes HMS Med Host and Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems, with a separate emergency room system.

Licensing Requirements:
• A valid DEA license is required, along with a Controlled Substance Permit.

Facility Overview:
This position is within a 70-bed facility, where patients typically require transfer to a larger medical center for specialized care. The role demands comfort in a solo practice setting, with minimal specialty support available on-site, although sub-specialists can be consulted via phone.
