LPN Triage Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at UCF Health. The ideal candidate will be part of our triage team, responsible for managing a high volume of calls daily. This role requires active listening, accurate documentation, and timely responses to patient concerns. The LPN must be able to prioritize calls, identify those that require immediate escalation to physicians or managers, and understand their scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to gather information and assign triage priority.
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members about patient statuses.
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful relationship with patients and co-workers.
- Assist with patient assessments and care planning.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in emergency medicine and urgent care best practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
Requirements:
- Valid State of Florida LPN license.
- Three to five years of experience as an LPN in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of patient charting and recordkeeping processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- CPR certification is preferred.
