Job SummaryThe HCA Nurse Residency Program provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment. This paid program assists with the transition from classroom to clinical practice through a formalized series of learning experiences, including advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, simulation-based evaluations, and mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and nursing standards.
- Assess patient condition during admission and throughout shifts, identifying and reporting changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting administration of care in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify providers when necessary.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipating needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- Other certifications may be required during employment
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- No previous experience is needed, but some travel may be required for training
