About the Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a highly skilled Metrology Engineer to join its team at its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ. As a key member of the quality assurance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced measurement systems and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of product measurements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AOI and CMM programs specific to measurements needed for product acceptance
- Document and maintain measurement work instructions for operators using this equipment
- Seek contemporary expansion of technology/equipment for improved metrology
- Obtain regular professional training relative to programming packages for current software packages
- Owns the MSA portion of APQP (Advance Product Quality Plan)
- Coordinates with process and supervision for the acceptance of new CNCs and the bi-yearly capability studies that are conducted on them
- Validate process improvements as required by Engineering and Process
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
- At least 3 years manufacturing experience working in metrology environment
- Experience with: Nikon measurement microscope, Keyence, Mitutoyo CMM/Optical System with vision pack software preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab
- Comfortable with GD&T / Blueprint interpretation
- 3D modeling software experience: Creo/Pro-E preferred
- Minitab, Microsoft Office, 5S, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Competencies of data structures
- Calibration Lab Management, ISO/IEC 17025, Z540, etc.
