Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to lead the development of energy audits and performance contracts by assisting staff engineers and project managers in designing concepts for energy conservation measures, identifying technical and financial solutions to meet customer objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Assist design engineering staff in screening and qualifying energy efficiency and capital improvement opportunities by attending customer meetings and conducting site trips.
• Develop and run energy screening models to determine the technical and economic viability of energy efficiency and capital improvement projects.
• Screen models using bin analyses, hourly building simulation computer models, and commercially-available analysis packages.
• Direct junior staff in producing mechanical designs and drawings by providing guidance and training on mechanical system design and software programs.
• Conduct field work to document existing conditions and inspect contractors' work during the construction phase.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (PE registration preferred).
• LEED AP, CEM certifications (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in HVAC, EMS, and/or central plant design.
• 5+ years of experience with energy conservation and building system retrofits (AutoCAD and/or REVIT proficiency required).
• Performance contracting experience and building energy use modeling and simulation skills (e.g., eQUEST, HAP, DOE2, Trane Trace, ASHRAE Modified Bin Analysis) are desirable.
• Knowledge of local and national building codes and standards (e.g., Building Codes, NFPA Codes, USGBC LEED standards, ASHRAE 90.1).

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $130,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience.
