Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for evaluating and caring for respiratory therapy patients, administering prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, and providing education to patients and families.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Evaluate patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies, and procedures.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, and perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Assist with care, calibration, and maintenance of all equipment, and participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
