About the Job: We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the Cardiovascular Health Clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting patient care delivery, maintaining a safe work environment, and protecting patient confidentiality.
Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team. You will be responsible for preparing patients for healthcare visits, verifying patient information, and supporting patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for healthcare visits by directing them to exam rooms, helping them position themselves for examinations and treatments, and arranging examining room instruments and equipment.
- Verify patient information and update charts by interviewing patients, reviewing medical history, taking vital signs, and confirming visit or treatment purposes.
- Support patient care delivery by assisting healthcare providers during examinations, taking electrocardiograms, placing heart monitors, disposing of contaminated supplies, authorizing drug refills as directed, and telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Educate patients by providing medication and diet information, answering questions, and completing records by recording examination, treatment, and test results in EMR or records.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and protecting operations by keeping patient care information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA.
Requirements:
- Clinical healthcare experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word/Excel/Teams.
- Ability to travel to other offices as needed.
- OKC only: Valid driver's license.
- Ardmore, OK requires phlebotomy experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Clinical cardiology or vascular experience.
- MA education.
- BLS (must obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Certified Medical Assistant.
- Experience in an EMR, ADP Workforce Now.
Estimated Salary: $52,000 - $70,000 per year.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires a full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
