Job Title: Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our Transportation Department. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining the fleet of school buses and ensuring they are in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect vehicles to identify signs of wear and tear, and perform necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Maintain the fleet in accordance with State of Minnesota guidelines.
  • Repair or schedule necessary service work with the Lead Mechanic.
  • Track service performed on all vehicles.
  • Maintain bus and shop cleanliness.
  • Work collaboratively with the transportation team to provide safe transportation of students.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a school bus driver's license and driving is a requirement of the position.
  • Class B license with air brake endorsement.
  • DOT certified truck inspector.
Requirements:
  • Tools, lubricants, equipment, inspection/troubleshooting, overhaul, repair and adjustment of powered equipment and of fuel, ignition, electrical, cooling, and braking systems.
  • ASE certification preferred.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $25.12 to $26.61 according to the Mechanic Work Agreement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the transportation team to provide safe transportation of students.
