Role Overview

The Automation Systems Engineer will be an integral part of the Engineering Services team at ExxonMobil's Baton Rouge facilities. This role involves collaboration with various personnel, including plant operations and technical experts, to ensure the effective maintenance of diverse process control systems such as Honeywell Experion, TDC3000, and TDC2000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and support various control system technologies beyond your primary responsibilities.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adhere to ExxonMobil standards, including Process Control Practices and documentation protocols.
  • Provide off-hour support as needed, primarily via telephone.
  • Act as a key team member, collaborating with a large interdisciplinary group to achieve common goals.
Essential Functions
  • Install and support hardware, including servers and workstations.
  • Support process control applications and maintain data historian systems.
  • Manage network devices and ensure security configurations are in place.
  • Support Windows Domain infrastructure and manage Active Directory.
Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation, Computer Science, Networking, Electronics, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting process control systems and computing technologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining process control systems or Windows-based networks, preferably in an industrial setting.
