Job Summary

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for delivering quality therapy services to patients by performing evaluations and developing individual treatment plans and goals to maximize functional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients in a systematic and thorough manner, establishing appropriate treatment plans and goals within specified time frames.
  • Administer appropriate treatments to patients, demonstrating knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing for patients of all ages.
  • Instruct and supervise patient care of rehabilitation technicians and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous, and consistent manner.
  • Maintain timely and accurate medical records, recording legibly in patient charts and completing reports in an organized, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Foster communication with patients and families, other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and other hospital personnel to achieve goals and establish department support.
  • Provide patient and family education, including information on outside resources to meet the patients specific needs.
  • Promote health care outcomes in concert with currently accepted clinical practice guidelines and established clinical pathways.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or other related field.
  • Licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation - Speech-Language Pathology / Eligible for licensure as an SLP Intern.
  • Eligible to begin clinical fellowship period with ASHA Certification and membership upon completion.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certified.

Pay Range

$48.60/hour
