Job Summary: New Directions for Veterans seeks an experienced Housing Navigator to join our dynamic team, contributing to the success of our mission-driven organization.

Primary Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Expertise in conducting comprehensive needs assessments, developing individualized plans, and coordinating with clients to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Proven ability to establish strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and community partners, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Knowledge of local housing market trends, subsidy programs, and available resources, with the capacity to navigate complex systems and advocate for clients' interests.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and inform service delivery decisions.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges faced by homeless veterans and a commitment to delivering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Associates or Bachelor's level).
  • At least two years of experience in case management, street outreach, or a related field.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to obtain insurance through New Directions.
  • Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) compliance.
  • A clean background check and drug test results.
  • Annual evidence of a tuberculosis test.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, adapting to the needs of our clients and organization.
