Packaging Engineer Intern

Job Summary:

Join Promega as a Packaging Engineer Intern and contribute to the development of innovative packaging designs, materials, and processes. This co-op position will provide hands-on experience in packaging design, development, and implementation, as well as opportunities to work with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the Packaging Engineer and Packaging Specialist in developing packaging designs, materials, and processes.
2. Identify or design product primary packaging, secondary kit packaging, and distribution packaging.
3. Collaborate with internal scientific staff and external test labs to qualify new or revised packaging or delivery methods.
4. Assist with performing financial justification analysis and writing material specifications.
5. Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

Requirements:

1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Packaging Engineering.
2. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively work on many priorities at one time.
3. Proven ability to interact productively with team members.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Computer literacy in Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with development of Engineering and/or Drafting Standards.
2. Experience using document management software applications.

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to work in a production environment around automated equipment.
2. Ability to work in an office environment utilizing a computer workstation.
3. Ability to work in a lab environment with chemical and biological materials.
4. Ability to travel by car or airplane, for one or several days, to suppliers, equipment vendors, trade shows, etc.
5. Able to lift 30 pounds.
