Role Responsibilities:
As an Ultrasound Technician, you will perform a variety of perinatal ultrasound examinations utilizing high-frequency sound waves to assess internal organs and vessels for prenatal diagnosis.

You will prepare the examination area, obtain informed consent, and gather accurate clinical histories as needed. You will review patient histories to determine the appropriate protocols and explain the examination process to patients, ensuring they are comfortably positioned.

Additionally, you will assess patient status and needs, conduct necessary diagnostic tests, and perform interventions as required. You will review and evaluate completed tests for quality and accuracy, ensuring that high-quality images are produced. Coordination of image preparation and documentation for physician review is essential, as is thorough communication of patient-related information.

It is crucial to keep patients informed about physician instructions and observations from ancillary caregivers, integrating this information into the care provided.

Effective communication and coordination with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team are vital to ensure safety, care, courtesy, and efficiency in all interactions.

You will also monitor equipment reliability and safety, reporting any issues or required repairs. Responsibilities include ordering and stocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness in examination rooms and equipment, and transporting patients as necessary.

(If applicable) You may be required to assist in other departments based on business needs and may be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.

Qualifications:
American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (S) or ARDMS registry is required. Health Care Provider Life Support certification is mandatory. A minimum of one year of ultrasound experience is preferred, along with Fetal Echo Certification being advantageous.
