Job Title: Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations

Western Digital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations to lead our Wafer manufacturing team in Fremont, CA.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations will be responsible for the overall management of the Wafer manufacturing process, including process engineering, equipment engineering, and manufacturing. This role will drive efficiencies and effectiveness in operation KPIs, such as quality, productivity, cost, cycle time, turnover, training, and strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct management of the Wafer manufacturing Wet etch, plating, and CMP EDMT's
  • Establish and drive efficiencies and effectiveness in operation KPIs
  • Initiate and implement key initiatives like Lean Six Sigma, Productivity, Quality Controls, Cycle time reduction
  • Understand and align the business unit and corporate strategy, develop and execute local implementation plan
  • Participate in corporate and business driven initiatives, including Employee Engagement, Suggestion and Performance Management
  • Partner with related supporting departments to review, establish and implement related policies and procedures
  • Establish a process to continuously review business processes and drive enhancement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in engineering or management desired
  • Familiarity with Semiconductor / HDD Wafer manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years of applied operations management in Semiconductor / HDD Wafer Manufacturing
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to lead people, motivate staff and teams
  • Strong interaction skills and ability to communicate well with all support groups
  • Strong process driven skills, result orientation and exhibiting good technical ability
