Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Manager - Med Surg Department at LifeBridge Health oversees the Med Surg Medical unit, providing supportive leadership to the unit Director and staff. This role requires 24/7 accountability, focusing on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, patient experience, and staff engagement. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical, and legal aspects surrounding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with nursing and organizational leaders to achieve and sustain HCAHPS and NRC results.
- Ensure associates perform tasks resulting in a positive patient experience.
- Monitor team to ensure purposeful hourly care rounds and bedside shift report.
- Address and identify patient/family concerns in a timely manner.
- Review survey comments with team, identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement.
- Complete daily rounding with purpose.
- Maintain competent in specialty area, demonstrating proficiency in clinical/ethical/legal aspects surrounding patient care.
- Assist with developing and setting strategic target plans for unit outcomes and clinical initiatives.
- Support the Director in creating sustainable work processes consistent with patient-centered care.
- Assume full responsibility of unit functions in the absence of the Director.
- Ensure appropriate utilization of resources and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
- Support professional development and ensure team behaviors and practices align with shared governance expectations.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN) preferred.
- National certification in area of specialty preferred.
- 3-5 years progressive nursing management experience preferred.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- American Heart Association CPR (BLS).
- Registered Nurse (RN) License.
