Job Purpose

This role necessitates strong computer proficiency and customer service skills, alongside a solid understanding of construction machinery and aggregate components. The position involves interaction with both internal and external clients, requiring the ability to maintain composure during high-pressure situations with significant call volumes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and transport materials within or adjacent to the warehouse or job site.
  • Inspect shipped goods and confirm the completeness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and other documentation.
  • Direct incoming shipments to the appropriate departments.
  • Count and verify the quantity and identification numbers of items against orders.
  • Interpret work orders or follow verbal instructions.
  • Handle loading and unloading of materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves manually or using a forklift.
  • Prepare products for shipment.
  • Label containers with identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Fulfill stock orders.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience with equipment or automotive parts is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
  • Proficient in using computers, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bi-lingual candidates, particularly in English and Spanish, are preferred.
  • The selected candidate will undergo a pre-employment drug screening, background check, including MVR, and a pre-employment physical examination.

Working Conditions

  • This position involves sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, climbing, moving, and reaching overhead.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely is required.
  • Exposure to working near moving mechanical parts, hazardous materials, and moderate noise levels is expected. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as necessary.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment WorkSTEPS physical assessment.
