Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Dean's Professional Services. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients for medical testing or donation.
  • Ensure accurate and safe blood collection procedures.
  • Label and store blood samples to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Verify patient information before drawing blood.
  • Assemble and maintain equipment such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform verification of patient demographic info/initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to verify tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent – Required.
  • Phlebotomy Certification – Preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of experience – Required
  • One (+) years of phlebotomy experience – Preferred
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training – Preferred
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment - Preferred
  • Keyboard/data entry experience – Required
