Job Overview

The Measurement Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of gas and liquid measurement systems. This position involves the calibration and maintenance of various measurement devices to uphold operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain an exemplary safety record, ensuring zero lost time accidents.
  • Report any measurement discrepancies to the Measurement Foreman promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage both scheduled and unscheduled measurement tasks.
  • Conduct product validation, sampling, and thorough documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Best Measurement Practices.
  • Provide service support to operations and production teams.
  • Oversee the installation of new well meters and the repair or replacement of existing measurement devices.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of gas operations to assist in troubleshooting alongside Instrumentation/Electrical and Production teams.
  • Participate in well reviews aimed at enhancing production and minimizing decline rates.
  • Collect and analyze meter data effectively.
  • Ensure communication systems in the area are maintained at 98% efficiency or higher.
  • Keep work areas and tools/equipment organized and clean.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in measurement processes.
  • Proficient in general computer skills and data management.
  • Eager to learn about area systems, operations, and protocols.
  • Understanding of orifice measurement and sizing is essential.
  • Familiarity with Cygnet Vision, Cygnet Explorer, PCCU, Freewave Tool Suite, Roclink 800, and CalcIt is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of AGA 3, API 21.1, API 14.3, and API 14.1 standards is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Availability for on-call rotation is required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This role involves light physical activity in an office environment, with periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of weights between 10-25 pounds may be necessary.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking are expected.
  • Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbs independently.
  • Potential exposure to noise levels necessitating hearing protection.
  • Some tasks may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat, and cold, with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high winds, ice, snow, humidity, vibration, and dust.
