About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics/Production Planner/Scheduler to join our team at USALCO. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule activities for assigned products/product lines
- Dispatch railcars, bulk tankers, and LTL shipments and update internal/external customers on deliveries as needed
- Act on ERP recommendations, internal business knowledge, current inventory levels, and product lead times
- Achieve performance targets and objectives to maintain service and inventory levels, while minimizing instances of backorders
- Provide administrative support for all office functions, ERP order processing, purchase ordering, and data system tracking
- Develop the weekly Production Plan for assigned work center
- Develop improved functional processes for improved administrative workflows
- Assist with monthly inventory counts and identify inventory variance
- Act as a back-up to the On-site Administrator
- Determine capacity volumes and manage capacity of assigned work centers
- Recommend updates to product standards and review batch size on assigned products
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (NSF, ISO, etc.) in the areas of process control, materials control, purchasing, and product identification & traceability
- Provide operational support to personnel as needed to ensure customer demands are met
Requirements:
- Requires organizational and planning skills to meet daily and weekly production schedules
- Knowledge of warehousing, and inventory control processes
- Must be dependable, flexible, and able to respond on short notice to satisfy requirements of customers
- Requires good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude with practical understanding of business operations
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Computer literate with proficiency using ERP based systems
- Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Required- Associate degree or Certifications in Logistics, Business, Operations Management or Manufacturing Management required, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- 4 to 6 years of progressive manufacturing, Production Management and transportation experience will be considered without the required degree
- APICS certification and familiarity with Class A Supply Chain certification preferred
Essential Functions:
- Maintain confidentiality of personnel information, and company processes and strategies
- Routinely sits 80 to 90% of shift
- Be flexible with work hours to meet demands of this position
