The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Gastroenterology/Hepatology is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will provide direct patient care services for adult general Gastroenterology and work under faculty supervision to develop and implement diagnostic and therapeutic management plans.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive patient histories and perform physical exams in outpatient clinics
- Present patient information to GI faculty and participate in potential re-examination of patients
- Develop and manage surveillance plans for patients with pre-malignant conditions of the digestive tract
- Participate in discussion and interpretation of study results and correspondence with house staff and referring physicians
- Perform procedure consent and history and physicals in the Digestive Health Procedure unit
- Manage details related to procedures such as 24-hour pH probe, endoscopy, and colonoscopy
- Graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in GI is desired
