Responsibilities
Collaborate with veterinary clinical faculty, residents, and other licensed veterinary technicians to provide medical care for research animals. Serve as a liaison between veterinary clinicians and research laboratory personnel, maintaining accurate medical records.
Key Duties
- Implement and coordinate veterinary medical care protocols for animal health and disease prevention and treatment.
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of disease under the guidance of veterinary clinical faculty and residents.
- Maintain animal records to ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and clinical rounds.
- Train laboratory personnel in animal handling and restraint, as well as medical techniques.
- Provide consistent care to animals on weekends and holidays with other licensed veterinary technicians.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in animal health technology.
- 1-3 years of experience.
- Active Veterinary Technical license in the United States and passing the certification exam.
