Position Overview

Bridgeway is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Life Skills Coaches, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

The Life Skills Coach is responsible for assisting individuals in making informed choices about their lives and encouraging them to take on valued roles within their communities. This role involves motivating clients to discover their aspirations, enhance their life skills, and navigate their personal journeys. Below is a summary of key responsibilities:

  • Encourage individuals to thrive in an independent environment.
  • Provide on-site job training, support services, and implement service plans while advocating for clients.
  • Attend to personal care needs, including hygiene, grooming, and other daily activities.
  • Maintain clear and honest communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Complete necessary documentation such as progress notes and goal reports by set deadlines.
  • Be attentive to medical and emergency situations, including health concerns and safety issues.
  • Assist in developing cognitive, emotional, and life skills to promote rehabilitation and positively influence clients' lives.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation that meets company insurance standards. Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or similar roles is advantageous.

Successful candidates must obtain CPR and First Aid certification post-hire, along with completing the Direct Support Person (DSP) credential and Medication training program. If applicable, maintaining license requirements is essential. Employment with Bridgeway is contingent upon passing all required background checks.
