About the Role:

F.E. Moran Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team in the Champaign, IL area. As a Fire Alarm Inspector, you will be responsible for providing top-notch customer service through on-site inspections and preventative maintenance services on fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect Fire Alarm Systems: Perform inspections on fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA and Authority Having Jurisdiction to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and district codes, regulations, and specifications.
  • Provide Customer Service: Provide reliable, excellent quality customer support through on-site inspections and preventative maintenance services on fire alarm systems.
  • Document Deficiencies: Recognize and accurately document deficiencies found during an inspection.
  • Communicate with Clients: Provide thorough and timely information to clients; Communicate status of work orders to supervisors and other office staff.
  • Maintain Relationships: Maintain positive working relationships with field and office staff.
  • Perform Physical Demands: Lift inventory, bend and stoop, carry and move materials, and load and unload vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable: High school diploma or equivalent required; Understanding of NFPA standards and state and local building and fire codes preferred.
  • Experienced: Previous fire alarm inspections experience a plus.
  • Self-Starter: Learn quickly and use your resources to be successful in your role.
  • Analytical: Ability to read and understand technical information, analyze, think critically, and problem-solve.
  • Flexible: Possess a valid drivers license with a clear driving record; travel to client sites regularly.
