Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Offender Grievance Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our correctional facility, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Department of Corrections policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and investigate inmate grievances, ensuring timely and thorough resolution.
  • Conduct interviews and investigations, gathering and analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with staff and inmates to resolve issues and provide guidance and consultation as needed.
  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal and state laws governing rights for the incarcerated, as well as VADOC operations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Considerable knowledge of VADOC operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws governing rights for the incarcerated.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews and investigations, research, and present findings clearly and accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and provide guidance and consultation to inmates.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain harmonious working and public relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance from others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a corrections facility providing direct contact with inmates.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access programs.
