Job Title: Weekend Package Charge RN

Horn Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Registered Nurse to join our Med-Surg Unit on a weekend package schedule. As a Charge RN, you will be responsible for leading our team of nurses and providing exceptional patient care on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Med-Surg team as Charge RN, ensuring high-quality patient care and a positive work environment.
  • Makes assignments of nursing staff according to patient needs and staff competency levels.
  • Acts as a role model for staff, demonstrating effective communication, clinical expertise, and direction to ensure quality care and practice standards are met.
  • Creates a professional environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provides direct patient care and assists staff as needed, administering medications, IVs, and treatment plans, and performing nursing assessments to formulate, implement, and evaluate a plan of care.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize patient care and duties.
  • Integrates policies, procedures, standards, and healthcare provider orders to carry out quality patient care.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a RN in the State of Iowa or a compact state. BSN preferred but not required.
  • At least one year of hospital and leadership experience as an RN preferred. Experience in Emergency Department preferred.
Weekend Package Options:
  • Two (2) out of three (3) weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday):
    • Employee's base rate of pay is set based on the Iowa Hospital Association Salary Survey and employee's work experience. In addition, the employee receives an hourly premium differential when working their eligible weekend package hours.
    • Employee will receive a set number PTO hours to be used annually.
    • Employee is eligible to participate in the hospital's 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Five (5) out of six (6) weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday):
    • Employee's base rate of pay set based on the Iowa Hospital Association Salary Survey and employee's work experience. In addition, the employee receives an hourly premium differential when working their eligible weekend package hours.
    • Employee will receive a set number PTO hours to be used annually.
    • Employee is eligible to participate in all of the hospital benefit plans (401k, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, disability, etc.).
  • All Weekends during the year (Friday, Saturday, Sunday):
    • Employee's base rate of pay set based on the Iowa Hospital Association Salary Survey and employee's work experience. In addition, the employee receives an hourly premium differential when working their eligible weekend package hours.
    • Employee will receive a set number PTO hours to be used annually.
