Job Summary

First Student is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Transportation Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing operational oversight, day-to-day management, and assisting drivers in the safe operation of routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Familiarity: Know the route and remain alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route.
  • Communication: Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver.
  • Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
  • Student Support: Assist students in the loading and unloading process.
  • Communication with School Personnel: Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents.
  • Safety and Training: Attend all safety and training meetings.
  • Emergency Evacuation: Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door.
  • Bus Maintenance: Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily. Cleans the inside of the bus.
  • Driver Support: Assists driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.
