We are currently seeking nurse graduates eager to become part of our esteemed multidisciplinary team within the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. This facility is located in a vibrant area, providing a dynamic workplace for healthcare professionals.
The Hematology and Medical Oncology unit comprises two 16-bed inpatient units dedicated to the care of patients with hematological and oncological conditions. Our services encompass a wide spectrum of patient needs, from initial diagnosis and treatment to symptom management, pain control, long-term survivorship, and end-of-life care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in unit governance and demonstrate competence in required nursing skills and knowledge.
- Provide and coordinate patient care within a specialized clinical area.
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary patient care team.
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3:1 during day shifts, allowing for meaningful interactions with patients and their families.
- Contribute to a supportive team environment, with many staff members having long-standing working relationships.
This role requires a commitment to professional nursing practice, adherence to the UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter, and accountability for patient care outcomes. Nurses will engage in strategies aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction and improving care effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is mandatory.
- For those completing their initial examination, testing must occur within a specified timeframe after graduation.
