Electrical Vocational Instructor Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Vocational Instructor to join our team at CoreCivic. As a Vocational Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in electrical trades to inmates/students, helping them acquire vocational skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement instructional programs in electrical trades, ensuring curriculum standards are met.
  • Plan and document individualized programs of study to meet the needs and abilities of students.
  • Provide instruction using a variety of materials, including handouts, texts, and audiovisual aids.
  • Evaluate student performance and issue progress reports as required.
  • Assist students with additional instruction as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
  • Five years of full-time, wage-earning experience in the subject vocational trade or in career readiness skills, including technical trade experience.
  • Current trade certification in the subject vocational area of instruction and licensure, or eligibility for provisional teaching licensure and trade certification in accordance with Tennessee Department of Education requirements.
  • Ability to give clear instructions in the trade and/or vocational area.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
