The Evening Nursing Supervisor is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and ensuring the maintenance of high-quality nursing care within the unit. This position requires flexibility to work evenings as necessary.

Nursing Services Duties:

  • Ensures adherence to current standards of care set by the profession and regulatory authorities.
  • Assists in the execution and assessment of the care delivery framework utilized in the nursing unit.
  • Models professional growth by initiating team meetings and participating in educational activities.
  • Manages the nursing unit's operations, adjusting shift assignments as needed to maintain quality care.
  • Engages in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Provides guidance and support to nursing staff during designated shifts in the absence of their supervisor.
  • Evaluates staff performance and seeks administrative input for salary adjustments.
  • Encourages interdisciplinary collaboration to foster an environment conducive to active nursing participation in patient care goals.
  • Ensures accurate charge capture in compliance with hospital policies.
  • May perform direct patient care responsibilities as required.

Staff Development:
Responsible for the orientation, education, and training of both licensed and unlicensed staff involved in patient care. This includes:

  • Coaching and mentoring nursing personnel.
  • Assisting staff in utilizing the nursing process for effective care management.

Infection Control:
Coordinates the hospital-wide infection control program, ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines. Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and evaluating infection control policies.
  • Monitoring compliance with infection control standards.
  • Educating staff on infection prevention practices.

Employee Health:
Oversees the hospital-wide employee health program, ensuring adherence to policies and maintaining health records for all employees.

Fosters a culture of quality improvement, expecting ethical behavior from all staff members. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting analyses to enhance departmental performance.
  • Aligning departmental priorities with the company's vision.

Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the relevant state is required, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of three to five years of clinical nursing experience is essential, along with relevant nursing certifications.
