Position Overview
The Aerospace Engineering Department is seeking a pool of temporary pilots to operate the Cessna 172 aircraft. This role involves domestic flights under either a normal category airworthiness certificate or a special airworthiness certificate in the experimental category. The flight operations will support various multidisciplinary research projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • 85% - Pilot and navigate the aircraft
  • 15% - Conduct pre-and post-flight inspections and prepare the aircraft for operation

Travel Requirements
May require out-of-state overnight travel.

Required Qualifications
  1. Possession of a Commercial Pilot's license with a Single Engine, Land rating
  2. A minimum of 250 hours total logged flight time across any aircraft
  3. At least 20 hours logged in a single-engine aircraft
  4. A minimum of 50 hours logged in a Cessna 172
  5. Current Class II medical certificate
  6. Three take-offs and landings as the sole manipulator of the flight controls in a single-engine aircraft within the last 90 days
