Position Overview:
Kaiser Permanente is on the lookout for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Special Procedures. This nursing role is pivotal in delivering exceptional patient care and is based in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Shift: 8 hours, days

Employment Type: Staff

Key Responsibilities:
As an RN, you will work under general supervision and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Your clinical judgment will be essential in diagnosing and addressing both actual and potential health issues.

Assessment:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients’ biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
- Identify self-care, educational, and discharge planning requirements.

Planning:
- Develop individualized nursing care plans that cater to the developmental needs of patients.
- Coordinate care activities and discharge plans with various hospital departments and community organizations.
- Create and document patient education plans, ensuring they are tailored to individual needs.
- Delegate care activities appropriately based on patient conditions and the capabilities of other healthcare providers.

Implementation:
- Initiate and manage care protocols for medical and surgical patients.
- Ensure adherence to established protocols and accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Evaluation:
- Assess the effectiveness of care plans and patients’ responses to treatments.
- Engage in unit quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical care experience within the last ten (10) years.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice.
- Proficient computer keyboarding skills.
- Completion of PACU Level 1 competencies within three months of hire or transfer.
- Ability to participate in call rotation as required.
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
- At least one (1) year of inpatient or ASC Endoscopy experience within the last four (4) years.
- Current experience in ICU, PACU, or ED settings.
- Familiarity with assisting in GI procedures.
